UPCOMING EVENTS

PTC General Meeting – May 20th 7pm-8:30pm In Person in the Terra linda library

At this meeting we will discuss the budget for next year as well as vote on our new board positions. Per our bylaws this vote will need to happen in person. We hope to see you there!

Currently on the ballot:
President: Sarah Verdugo
My name is Sarah Verdugo, and my husband Anthony and I are proud parents of our two daughters, Delilah, who is currently a Kindergartener at Terra Linda Elementary, and Allison, who will be joining in a few years. Professionally, my background is in product, program, and portfolio execution, and I’m excited to bring those skills into my role as PTC President. In this role, I look forward to helping foster open communication, collaboration, and community between families, staff, and school leadership while supporting the important work of the PTC. Outside of school and work, I love exploring all that Oregon has to offer including the beach and the mountains, and continuing to discover more of our Pacific Wonderland.
Secretary: Allison DeHaan & Becky Seppla (co)
My name is Allison DeHaan. I am an Occupational Therapist. I have three daughters in the Beaverton School District, a Sophmore (Tamaya) at Sunset, a 7th grader (Ely) at Tumwater and a 1st grader (Quinley) at Terra Linda and we have been part of Terra Linda Elementary since 2018. I am running to  be Co-Secretary with Becky Seppala. We served together several years ago as the VP of Fundraising on the PTC and we have been looking to get involved again with the PTC Board to support our teachers, staff and families.  I have thoroughly enjoyed chairing the Staff Appreciation Committee this past year, and coordinating the 5th grade celebrations and fundraisers for my children.  I look forward to finding other opportunities to stay involved in the school community.

Hi! I’m Becky Seppala, and I share the secretary role with my good friend, and neighbor, Allison!  I have been a part of TL since 2015 when my oldest child started kindergarten!  I previously served on the board as Co-VP of fundraising and have always volunteered for various events; currently, I am also a co-chair  for the staff appreciation committee.  I especially enjoy helping with evening events because it’s always a good time when TL families come together!  The Talent Show is one of my favorite nights to lead!  I grew up in Beaverton, and attended BSD schools, so I find joy in helping kids have the same wonderful experience I did.

My husband, Jayme, and I have four kids–a current sophomore at Sunset, 8th and 6th graders at Tumwater, and at Terra Linda we have Leah in 3rd.  Our family schedule is always crazy between both of our jobs, and our kids’ sports and activities, but we try to enjoy the chaos!  We squeeze in time enjoying the Pacific Northwest–on the mountains, at the beach, or on the river! We also love visiting New England each summer where we have a lot of family and friends.
You’ll usually find me near coffee, sun, a fun new recipe, or a baseball field! I look forward to connecting with you in this special community of people, however that may be!

🍎Staff✏️Appreciation📚week🍎

Hello Terra Linda families!  May 4th-8th is staff appreciation week, and we have a fun week planned for our staff to show our gratitude!  Please see the plan for the week below, and how students are involved in making the week special!
Monday, May 4th: Staff will be creating their own snackle boxes in the staff room,  If you would like to contribute, please sign up here.
Tuesday, May 5th:   Please send a flower (or a bunch) with your student.  Flowers from home work great!  There will be collection buckets near classroom doors that morning. Staff will receive bouquets arranged from the collected flowers!  If you’d like to volunteer to create bouquets, please sign up here.
Wednesday, May 6th:   Staff will receive a catered lunch!
Thursday, May 7th: Please send your student to school with a handmade card for their teacher,  and any other staff members they would like to personally thank!
Friday, May 8th: A mobile coffee cart will be on site for staff!
Let’s make this a special week for our amazing staff, and show them how much we care!
